My spin on Thirty Seconds to Mars's "Closer to the Edge" is a part of this story arc between this unicorn (now alicorn) named Twilight Sparkle and a braggadocious magician named Trixie. This arc is sort of a musical reenactment of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode "Magic Duel" - that's the one where Trixie banishes Twilight after the latter loses a duel, only for that purple pony to win the second one.
