about

"I had composed and produced this one on the day Kiki Havivy passed away [June 7]. Kiki was a bright, young 6-year old girl whose life ended too soon because of a brain tumor. Tara Strong turned to the brony fandom for their support and they donated whatever money they had to support this little girl. It also showed why they should stay in the fandom; it gave them a whole new perspective of what they could've done (which they did).

"I subtitled it Burning Bridges Part 2 because most of the song is based on 'Burning Bridges' by OneRepublic. I gotta give credit to them for recording such a great song and the basis for my version.

"The concept and context of 'Kiki' is drastically different from 'Burning Bridges'. I wanted it to follow the six years of Kiki's life in full instrumentation, from when she was born to the day she went to heaven. So by all means, it's like a journey; every minute is like every year Kiki lived on earth to have fun, do what she wanted to do, because she didn't have much time left. She enjoyed every second of it [her life].

"I'm just glad I did this one. Even though I hardly knew Kiki and her family, it's nice to not only pay tribute to her, but also shift my musical direction a bit. I can say it was one of the best moments I had so far while making my debut album." - Adrian 'Impala' Mata
